This Organic Certified Grade 1 decaf coffee from Peru comes to us through Valley Trading Company, an exporter that partners with smallholder farmers across several regions. While this lot isn’t tied to a single farm, it was shipped from the port of Paita in northern Peru, suggesting its origins lie in the highland areas of Cajamarca, Amazonas, and Piura. These regions are known for their mountainous landscapes, high-altitude farms, and the tradition of cultivating coffee organically on small family plots.
The coffee is decaffeinated using the Swiss Water Process, a gentle, chemical-free method that removes caffeine while preserving the beans’ natural flavors. This makes it a great fit for organic coffees and results in a clean, smooth cup.
Though not individually traceable, this lot represents the collective effort of small producers in one of Peru’s most respected coffee-growing areas, offering a dependable and sustainably produced decaf with the clarity and character northern Peru is known for.
