The Norcafé cooperative was founded in 2015 by a group of university students from coffee-growing families who wanted to improve coffee quality and create more opportunities for small farmers. What started with 100 families has now grown to 479 producers tending nearly 1,200 hectares in the Amazonas and Cajamarca regions. Thanks to their dedication and hard work, several members have been recognized in Peru’s Cup of Excellence, with four earning placements between 2018 and 2020.

This Organic Cerro Azul blend is carefully processed using the Washed method. Farmers handpick cherries at peak ripeness, pulp them the same day, and ferment them for 48 hours before washing. The coffee is then gently dried for about 16 days in solar dryers. The Amazonas region, with its diverse microclimates and high-altitude valleys, provides ideal conditions for growing exceptional coffee. While farmers handle every step of harvesting and processing, the cooperative helps with storage, warehousing, and bringing their coffees to market. They continue working towards better infrastructure to support their communities and ensure the best quality possible.
