Our Coffee Bag Labels

This has been a post that has been on my mind for a bit. I keep thinking about doing it then forget about or get caught up in something else. This a follow up on our labels but this one is a bit more in your face . You’ll have noticed that our labels have about 6-7 different colors and there are even a few that have a different colored text. What do these mean and how do we use them?

As you can see above, we have 7 different colors for our labels. Now the next question is what do they represent? Well they actually represent an area that produces coffee. It’s for easy recognition of that particular area. Now, how did I choose these colors? A bit arbitrary to be honest but it was the color that comes to mind when I think of that area. So let’s get to it!

This one right here represents Asia. Red is very deeply rooted in Asian culture and so I associate Asia with this color.

Countries you’d see with this color: India, Indonesia, China, Vietnam, Thailand, Philippines, and Taiwan

This beautiful blue is for Oceania. There aren’t many coffees from this region, but the ones that do are outputting some top quality coffees. An odd one out will be Hawaii. While yes, it’s part of the USA but it’s directly in the middle of the ocean so this is where it goes.

Countries you’d see with this color: Papa New Guinea and Hawaii

This is one of my favorites and it refers to Africa. The vibrant flavors that originally drew me to coffee was designated with this purple.

Countries you’d see with this color: Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Rwanda.

This is pretty new to me and the orange is for North America. Specifically, it’s for Mexico and they are producing amazing coffees. There are some coffees within California and a few that are trying to be grown in Texas but until they’re fully viable for purchase, you’re more likely to see a coffee from Mexico first.

Country you’d see with this color: Mexico

Here’s one of the biggest ones you’ll see. South America is one of the biggest producers in the world and with that the green of the Amazons is what got me to put South America with this color.

Countries you’d see with this color: Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela

And last but not least, Central America. This region has such good coffee and if you’ve gotten coffee from me, you’d know what I mean. The Honduras COMICOVEL and the Nicaragua’s Silvio Sanchez are one of many that have astounding coffee! Not to mention that the world renowned Gesha is mostly produced in Panama!

Countries you’d see with color: Honduras, El Savador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Costa Rica, and Panama

Well this isn’t for any particular region or for any country but reserved for anything that is a blend or a special one off. You can see this with our Serendipity or our Half Caff blend.

Last but not least, the odd orange text. This is a nod to the DECAF that you’d find from diners. The orange top or orange label. So if you see the orange text, you’ll know it’s DECAF even if you might not see the DECAF sign.
